Motlow Artists Can Share Their Talents at Open Mic Night on April 11


            LYNCHBURG -- Open mic night is here! Motlow artists can show off their talents with poetry, prose or music from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on April 11 (Thursday) on the Moore County Campus.

            The Open Mic Night will occur in the Jack Daniels Meeting Room at the Forrester Student Center. Each participant will have four minutes to showcase his or her work. Individuals may sign up at the door on a first-come, first-read basis. Refreshments will be served.

Get Creative With Words at 'Write Here! Write Now!' Workshop

     What's your story? Get creative, have fun, and dive into dive into fiction, poetry, lyrics, plays, etc. at the "Write Here! Write Now!" community creative writing workshop. The event occurs from 3:30-5:30 p.m. every Tuesday in room 203 of the Clayton Glass Library on the Moore County campus.

'Write Here! Write Now!' Course To Begin Sept. 4

        If you struggle with writer's block, feel your writing is disorganized or hard to follow, or you need some writing inspiration, “Write Here! Write Now!” is here to help.

        This community course will provide feedback from other aspiring authors, and writers will meet others who are pursuing their dreams of writing. All genres and levels are welcome.

        The sessions will be led by professors Dr. William Murphy and Tamara I. Jones on the Moore County Campus in Room 203 of the Clayton-Glass Library each Tuesday from 3:30-5:30 pm. The first meeting will be held Sept. 4, 2018.

        “We are piloting the workshops on the Moore County campus with plans to expand to Smyrna in the fall of 2019,” Murphy said.
