Dance Across the Decades at Motlow

SMYRNA, Tenn. – The Smyrna Entertainment Arts & Media Club is hosting "Dance Across the Decades" with the help of the Student Government Association on March 31 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m in the Mary Lou Apple building lobby.

 

"Dance Across the Decades" is a student dance aimed at celebrating iconic moves and music from the past 100 years. This event will include educational performances and activities like dance lessons, bingo, trivia, prizes and a raffle. Free food and drink will be provided by SGA.

 

This event will be dedicated to raising awareness for the Smyrna Senior Activities Center. This local non-profit needs student and community volunteers to help with everything from web design to social media and more.

Students and Faculty 'Dance Across The Decades' at Motlow Smyrna

     SMYRNA -- The lobby of the MaryLou Apple Building became a dance floor on March 22 for the first annual "Dance Across The Decades" event. 

      A guest DJ (Professor Robert Davenport) presented recordings from the 1920s till today with attendees dancing everything from the Charleston to the Twist (and a few creative moves of their own). The event was sponsored by the Smyrna Entertainment, Arts and Media Club, with support from the SGA.

'Dance Across The Decades' Event to Occur at Motlow Smyrna on March 22

     SMYRNA -- Students, faculty, administrators and staff will dance the night away at the "Dance Across The Decades" event from 5:30-7:30 p.m. March 22 (Friday) in the MLA Mobby on the Motlow Smyrna campus.

     The celebration will feature dancing from the 1920s till today, with a DJ, era music, trivia, prize giveaways, food and beverages. Attendees will enjoy free pizza and have the opportunity to win gift cards and merchandise. 

     Admission is free and open to everyone. The event is sponsored by the Smyrna Entertainment, Arts and Media Club (SEAM) with support from the Student Government Association. Attendees are encouraged to dress in period attire.
